                                            Events          

  The Brooklyn Park City Council approved the naming of a trail loop within the Environmental Nature Area in honor of Edward D. Shimek. A Dedication Ceremony was held Saturday, October 24,2009 at the Environmental Area A plaque was installed at the trailhead to honor Mr. Shimek’s many years of public service and contributions to the early development of Brooklyn Park as a city.
